Description
A ghagra choli is a traditional outfit from the Indian subcontinent, often worn by women in various regions, especially during festivals, weddings, and other cultural celebrations. The ensemble consists of three main pieces:
- Ghagra (or Lehenga): A long, pleated skirt that can be either simple or heavily embellished with embroidery, sequins, or other decorations. It typically sits high on the waist and flares out towards the hem.
- Choli: A fitted blouse or top that usually ends at the midriff. The choli can have various sleeve lengths and necklines, often designed to complement the style and embellishments of the ghagra.
- Dupatta: A long scarf or shawl that is draped over the head, shoulders, or both. The dupatta can be plain or ornate, matching the design and fabric of the ghagra and choli.
